Let me introduce myself to you. I am Bournabiski - A Chocolate Maker. Sounds Delicious Huh........From now on I am going to let you know all my new Chocolate recipes and their benefits. What if you want to taste these Chocolates? You can give me an order and I can send them to your doorstep. Sounds Good Enough? I hope so. Well now let us see about the Tree Which gives us Chocolates. That's Right. The Cacao Tree.
Technically It is been called as "Theobroma cacao" which means "Food of Gods". It does make sense isn't it? Well let us see in detail about the Cacao in the process of Chocolate.
This is the "Theobroma cacao" that is the Cacao Tree. It is originated from the Amazon Rainforest. When the tribes around the Amazon river found the quality and benefits of Cacao they started utilizing them in many ways. The usage of Chocolate in many ways & Forms date back to 1500BC.
This is Cacao Flowers. It will bud on the stem and main branches of the tree.
From the Flowers to Fruits - Transformation.
The ripened fruits are plugged and kept for fermentation. The Cacao beans will be safe inside the fruit at this point of time. The Chocolates are made from the bean.
After the fermentation the beans are separated from the fruit. They are then roasted and husks are removed from them.
After the husks are removed what we get is called as nibs as in the above picture.
The nibs are ground and added some sugar to get fine paste like this. This is called Cacao Mass.
Then the Cacao Mass with other flavors and ingredients poured on the moulds to get desired Chocolates.
